Research has uncovered the "Register of Births" in Illinois showing Charlie Morris having been born March 8, 1881. The father's (Ralph R. Morris) occupation is shown as "farmer", age 24, at the time of the birth.
The mother's name is listed as Alice M. Morris, Maiden name being Alice M. Lauver, age 22 at the time of the birth. [should be Martha Alice Lauver]

Lived in Shawnee, KS at the time of his father's death in 1934.

Obituary:
MORRIS--Charles D. Morris, 62, died last night at his home near Shawnee, Kas. For thirty years he was employed in the registry section of the Kansas City post office, retiring in 1933. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Anna F. Morris of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Frances Croke, Strasburg, Mo.; one brother, Frank B. Morris, Independence, Mo., and a sister, Mrs. John Martin[Maudie], Pampa Tex.

Frances B. Morris's Death Certificate shows that she was the wife of Chas. D. Morris.
The Anna F. was his second wife
