There was lots
of time for visiting friends and sharing information. After Don
Lee welcomed us, Bob
Francis gave an
interesting talk. Notice our new, 13-star Betsy Ross flag.
Our group met at
the 4-H Club grounds, 2 miles south of Cynthiana on U.S. HWY 27
Rob Jones and Mary
Clay (at Martin's Station). Mary owns the property, known as Fairfield
Farm. I tried to snap a picture of her dog, Stoner, but he was
running around too fast!
The back of Hinkson's
Marker facing the woods (at Ruddell's Fort) does have a short
inscription containing the words "Ruddell's Fort", but
now I can't read my own notes. I'll try for a better picture next
year!

A volley was fired at Ruddell's, and the
S.A.R. also put on a great demonstration while wearing their Virginia
Line uniforms. There was also a wreath laying ceremony. Thankfully,
I captured most of these moments on my camcorder.

Ducking under the
barbed wire fence on the way to the Burial Vault. Many thanks
to Tony Herrington who owns the property.
